List Of Blog Ping Services

By default, WordPress only pings one service and does not notify other blog directories and search engines that your website or blog has been updated. So it is a good idea to expand this list and notify more services.

  1. Log in to your WordPress administrator account
  2. Click the “Settings” tab followed by “Writing” link. Scroll to the “Update Services” box and enter the following list of ping services.
  3. Click the “Save Changes” button.

    Wow, So far I was pinging only the default service provided by wordpress. Currently I have 5 blogs and I have used this post’s advice to incorporate all the pinging services listed here.

    To be honest you don’t have to ping all of these and I actually think it will hurt you in the long run.

    Stefan > You are right, over pinging could hurt that’s why in the main post http://www.kuzzuk.net/blog-development-and-launch-checklist.html I pointed to the Jack humprey post on using a plugin to protect from over-pinging or double-pinging.
